Angels in the Psalms
1. “For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels” (8:4).
2. “And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind” (18:10).
3. “The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them”
(34:7).
4. “Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them. Let their
way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them” (35:5-6).
5. “The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among
them, as in Sinai, in the holy place” (68:17).
6. “He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by
sending evil angels among them” (78:49).
7. “Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest
between the cherubims, shine forth” (80:1).
8. “And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints. For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among
the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD? God is greatly to be feared in the
assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him” (89:5-7).
9. “For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear
thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone” (91:11-12).
10.“The LORD reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth between the cherubims; let the earth
be moved” (99:1).
11.“Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his,
that do his pleasure” (103:20-21).
12.“Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire” (104:4).
13.“Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the LORD from the heavens: praise him in the heights.
Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts” (148:1-2).
